Instructions

Remove the negative battery cable with a socket wrench to prevent the engine from starting. Wait 10 minutes for the the air bag system to deactivate before continuing with the heater removal procedure.

Place a clean container under the radiator drain, and open the drain plug with a socket wrench. Drain the coolant from the radiator into the container, and store it for later use. Detach the hoses from the heater below the center of the dashboard, and plug the open ends of the hoses with a clean shop cloth.

Remove the radio from the center console. Disconnect the retaining screws on the center console with a socket wrench, and remove the center console. Detach the covers from the mounting bolts on the instrument panel with a trim remover, and remove the mounting bolts.

Detach the trim from the lower part of the pillar in the center of the dash with a trim remover. Remove the covers for the instrument panel on both the driver and passenger sides. Disconnect the cable from the hood release lever. Disconnect the electrical wiring harness under the instrument panel.

Detach the instrument cluster and glove compartment from the vehicle. Remove the cables for the ventilation control and the electrical connector from the heater. Disconnect the vacuum line from the housing for the blower motor, and detach the feeder wire from the antenna.

Disconnect the electrical wiring harness from the fuse box. Detach the covers from the lower steering column, and disconnect the retaining bolts from the steering column with a socket wrench. Allow the steering column to hang freely.

Remove the retaining bolts for the instrument panel, and detach the instrument panel from the vehicle. Disconnect the control cables from the heater, and detach the electrical wiring harness from the blower motor. Remove the air duct between the blower motor and the heater. Lift the heater up and pull it out to remove it from the vehicle.
